After reading Jeann @ Happy Indulgence’s awesome Spread Love, Not War post, I feel like I should be true to my word when I added our link and spread my own version of blogger love.
This post is about thanking YOU, fellow bloggers, for being my source of amazing new releases and wonderful hidden gems.Whether it’s a positive review that convinced me to pick up a book (that I also loved) or a negative review that I got curious about (which I ironically ended up loving), fellow bloggers help me weed out the good book from the bad. It’s a fact. After my 4-month long hiatus, I realized that most of the books I read is because of a review or a recommendation from other bloggers. So imagine not being able to check blogs for four months…it was like a bookish drought!
So thank you:
Faye @ The Social Potato and co-blogger, for urging me to read Written in Red! To be honest, I didn’t take notice of the book before your recommendation because of the cover but I’m so glad I listened to your nagging (hehe kidding!) This is an amazing book and an even amazing series and spectacular on audio. Murder of Crows was as amazing as WiR and I seriously can’t wait to listen to Vision in Silver!
Joy @ Joyousreads, for recommending the best web series in the entire universe, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Before her post I had no idea that such things even existed so I am deeply grateful that you introduced me to new media and discovered that there’s more to YouTube than kitties, doggies and panda videos. If not for you, I would never have discovered what I think is the best modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice. A double whammy even, because the series has been continued on in books. Thank you so much! <3
Jessica @ Rabid Reads for convincing me that I should give Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series another go. I admit that when I first read Angel’s Blood, I was still on a Psy-Changeling high and kept comparing the former to the latter. Thanks to you, I have another favorite of the author and my new found love for this series convinced me that I also need to give you personal favorite, Ilona Andrew’s Kate Daniels series a go and I love it! I’m practically binge listening to this series right now.
Irish @ I’m Socially Awkward for recommending Orange Marmalade, a korean webtoon that had me bawling my eyes out. I read this manhwa in one sitting and it was one of the most simplest yet beautiful and emotional stories I’ve ever read. Reading this made me into an ugly crying mess and I can’t thank you enough!
This is by far, a tiny, tiny list and I’m sure I’ll be adding more to this as I go along! How about you? Do you have a specific blogger to thank for leading you to one of your favorite books? Share the love here!
