According to dear Google, April 10 is celebrated as National Sibling’s Day. It’s not that yet recognized like Mother’s Day and Father’s day but it’s slowly getting there, and really why not have it too right?

They may be annoying and irritating and bossy but it is amazing to have siblings, trust me. And not just blood related siblings, but also those who are just more than a friend to you but also a brother or a sister.

So in honor of this day, I’d like to take this chance to list my favorite siblings and pseudo-siblings from books I have read or movies I’ve seen.

1. Cullen Siblings from Twilight Saga
They may have been forced to become siblings because, aside from being created by one vampire, all of them embraced the life of being a “vegetarian vampire”. They always had each others back, even Bella’s clumsy back which agree or not, has brought them the most trouble. They were the type of siblings you wouldn’t want to cross if you want your life to last. Like, literally.

2. The Knitting Ladies from Knitting in the City series
I had two older brothers growing up so it has always been my dream to gain at least one older sister. And if I were to recall what type of sister I wished for, these ladies were the best example. They are kickass, smart, beautiful, and most importantly, they will always be there through heartaches and sexcapades. They don’t just knit, they also jump to adventures and trust them to always push you to your limits.

3. The Rosemary Beach Guys from Rosemary Beach Series by Abbi Glines
They may keep a hot guy facade and strut all over the place with their muscular body  and may seem nothing but trouble, but these guys have one of best the bromance(brother+romance) I’ve read from books. They are the boys your mother warned you about but can’t help but stare at them 24/7, but they are not just all about the looks, they are also trustworthy and a shoulder to cry on.

4. The Fellowship of the Ring from the Lord Of The Rings
What other words can I say other than they were all willing to die for each other, most especially for Frodo? And Sam’s dedication for Frodo? Epic bromance.

5. The Wallflowers from the Wallflowers series by Lisa Kleypas
These ladies only had one aim(to find a husband), and with this single aim friendship was created. Through crazy plans to giving-birth they were always there for each other. These ladies didn’t just gain husbands but also sisters for life.

6. The Weasleys
They may not have the newest books or the hippest clothes but these siblings were the best example of what true brother-sister-hood really is. They may fight each other, annoy each other, disappoint each other, and of course tease and play jokes on each other but at the end of the day, they will always be a family through life and death.

7. Harry, Hermione, and Ron
Magic brought these three together and just like magic, they were inexplicably impossible to break apart. To classmates, to bestfriends, to family, these three will always be inseparable not just in their world but also in our hearts.

These are just a few of my favorites. Most of them were not blood related but it didn’t hinder them to treat each other like family. It’s not just blood that determines who your brother and sisters are, it’s the bond you create over time.

Which siblings/pseudo-siblings are your favorites?
